Terms and Conditions for Carpet Cleaners Elephant and Castle
These Terms and Conditions set out the basis on which Carpet Cleaners Elephant and Castle provides domestic and commercial carpet cleaning services in the UK. By making a booking, confirming an appointment, or allowing our operatives to commence work, you agree to be bound by these terms. Please read them carefully before placing a request for service. For the purposes of these terms, references to “we”, “us”, and “our” mean the service provider operating under the trading style Carpet Cleaners Elephant and Castle, and references to “you” and “your” mean the customer or any person acting on the customer’s behalf.
These terms apply to all carpet cleaning appointments, including standard cleaning, stain treatment, deodorising, stain spot treatment, and related floor care services where applicable. They are intended to ensure clarity around the booking process, payment obligations, cancellations, liability limits, waste handling, and the legal framework governing the agreement. Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights under UK consumer law.
By continuing to use our carpet cleaning service, you confirm that you are authorised to request the work at the premises concerned and that the information you provide is accurate and complete. If you are booking on behalf of another person, you are responsible for ensuring they are aware of and accept these terms.
We may update these terms from time to time, and the version in force at the time of booking will apply unless a change is required by law.
1. Booking Process
All bookings for carpet cleaners in Elephant and Castle are subject to availability and confirmation by us. A booking request may be made by the communication method we provide from time to time, and it will only become a confirmed appointment when we have accepted the request and provided a date or time window. Any estimate given before confirmation is provisional and may change if the details of the property, access, or required cleaning work are different from those initially described.
When making a booking, you must provide accurate information about the size and condition of the carpets, any known stains or damage, the presence of pets, parking restrictions, access requirements, and any special handling needs. If the actual work required is materially different from the details supplied, we may revise the service scope, pricing, or appointment duration. Failure to disclose relevant information may result in delay, additional charges, or cancellation of the visit if safe or effective service cannot be provided.
We reserve the right to refuse or cancel any booking where we reasonably believe that access is unsafe, the premises are unsuitable, the service requested is outside our capabilities, or the work would expose our staff to unreasonable risk. We may also refuse a booking if there is a conflict of interest, suspected fraud, abusive conduct, or non-compliance with these terms. In all cases, we will act reasonably and, where possible, offer an alternative appointment or service arrangement.
2. Service Conditions and Customer Responsibilities
You must ensure that the area to be cleaned is reasonably accessible and prepared before the appointment begins. This includes moving fragile items, valuables, electronics, and personal belongings unless we have expressly agreed in writing to do so. You are also responsible for securing pets and providing suitable parking or access instructions. Where furniture movement is requested, we may accept or decline that element of the job depending on safety, weight, and practicality.
We will use reasonable skill and care when performing carpet cleaning services, but the final result may depend on fibre type, age, prior wear, underlay condition, previous treatment, and the nature of any staining or contamination. Certain stains may be permanent, may reappear due to wicking, or may only partially respond to treatment. We do not guarantee the removal of every stain or odour, particularly where the issue is caused by pre-existing damage, improper past treatment, or materials that are incompatible with cleaning products.
The customer must disclose any known risks or sensitivities, including carpets that may be loose, frayed, dyed incorrectly, water-sensitive, or otherwise delicate. If you ask us to proceed despite known risks, you do so at your own discretion and we may require written acknowledgement before starting.
We will not be responsible for pre-existing defects, hidden damage, or faults that are not reasonably discoverable before work begins.
3. Pricing and Payments
Prices for carpet cleaner Elephant and Castle services are generally based on the information supplied at the time of booking and may be quoted as fixed prices, minimum charges, hourly rates, or rates by room, area, or item depending on the nature of the work. Any quotation is valid only for the period stated or, if no period is stated, for a reasonable time. We may adjust the price if the volume of work, level of soiling, property conditions, or requested additional services differ from what was originally described.
Unless otherwise agreed, payment is due on completion of the service on the same day and must be made using the payment methods we accept. We may require a deposit, card authorisation, or advance payment for certain bookings, particularly for larger jobs, commercial work, or appointments reserved during high-demand periods. If a deposit is taken, it may be non-refundable to the extent permitted by law, especially where we have allocated time and resources specifically for your booking.
If additional work is requested during the appointment, we will explain any revised cost before proceeding where reasonably practicable. By agreeing to additional services, you accept responsibility for the corresponding charge. Late or failed payment may result in recovery action, administration charges where lawful, and suspension of future bookings. Nothing in these terms affects rights you may have under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 or other applicable UK legislation.
4. Cancellations, Rescheduling, and Access Failures
You may cancel or reschedule a confirmed appointment by giving us reasonable notice. If cancellation is made within the notice period we specify at booking, no cancellation charge will normally apply. Where late cancellation occurs, or where an appointment is missed because access was not available, we may charge a reasonable fee to cover lost time, travel, and preparation, subject always to applicable law and the circumstances of the case.
If we need to cancel or reschedule due to circumstances beyond our control, including staff illness, equipment failure, severe weather, road disruption, or safety concerns, we will contact you as soon as reasonably possible and offer a new appointment date or suitable alternative. We will not be liable for indirect losses caused by such changes, provided we have acted reasonably and in good faith. Any refund, where due, will be limited to sums already paid for the cancelled element of the service.
You must ensure that someone with authority to allow access is present during the agreed time window unless we have agreed alternative arrangements. If our team cannot gain access, or if the property is not ready for cleaning, we may treat the visit as a late cancellation or failed appointment.
In such cases, you may still be charged the applicable call-out, waiting, or cancellation fee.
5. Liability and Service Limitations
We will perform our carpet cleaning service with reasonable care and skill, using suitable techniques and equipment appropriate to the type of carpet and the condition disclosed to us. However, cleaning is a restorative process, not a replacement for repair or refurbishment. Natural wear, fibre distortion, shading changes, colour loss, pile flattening, and pre-existing marks may remain visible after treatment. Where carpets are old, fragile, or heavily worn, cleaning may improve appearance but cannot restore them to a new condition.
Our liability for loss or damage is limited to the extent caused by our proven negligence or breach of contract and, where permitted by law, will not exceed the total amount paid for the specific service giving rise to the claim. We are not liable for loss of profit, loss of business, loss of goodwill, or any indirect or consequential loss. Nothing in these terms limits or excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, fraudulent misrepresentation, or any other liability that cannot lawfully be limited or excluded under UK law.
It is your responsibility to notify us of hidden hazards, floor defects, previous flooding, contamination, unstable fixtures, or electrical issues before work begins. We may stop work if continuing would be unsafe or if the carpet condition creates an unreasonable risk of damage. If a carpet is susceptible to colour run, dye transfer, shrinkage, or fibre degradation, you accept that some outcomes cannot be guaranteed even where appropriate methods are used.
Where necessary, we may request your consent to proceed after explaining the risk.
6. Waste Regulations and Environmental Handling
Any waste generated during the provision of our Elephant and Castle carpet cleaners service will be handled in accordance with applicable UK waste legislation and environmental obligations. This includes responsible disposal of packaging, used cloths, recovered debris, and any contaminated materials that cannot reasonably be retained or reused. We will take reasonable steps to separate waste, minimise unnecessary disposal, and use lawful disposal routes where specialist handling is required.
Where waste is removed from the premises, ownership of that waste transfers in accordance with the service arrangement and the relevant legal requirements. We will not accept responsibility for items that the customer has instructed us to discard if those items later prove to be valuable, restricted, or hazardous, unless we have acted negligently. If the work produces waste that falls within regulated categories, including items contaminated by chemicals, bodily fluids, or other hazardous substances, we may decline to remove it unless proper arrangements and any required consents are in place.
You must not ask us to dispose of waste unlawfully or in a manner that breaches environmental rules. If a request would contravene waste regulations, we will refuse that part of the instruction and may suspend the service if necessary. We are committed to lawful and environmentally responsible working practices and expect the same standard of compliance from customers.
Any additional disposal cost arising from unusual waste streams will be discussed before chargeable action is taken where reasonably possible.
7. Complaints, Variations, and Entire Agreement
If you are dissatisfied with any aspect of the service, you should raise the matter within a reasonable time so that we can assess it properly. We may request photographs, descriptions, and other relevant information to help us understand the issue. If a concern relates to a possible service defect, we may offer a re-clean, partial remedy, or another appropriate solution depending on the circumstances. Our aim is to resolve matters fairly and proportionately.
No variation of these terms will be effective unless agreed by us in writing or confirmed through the booking process. Any statements made before booking are not intended to override these terms unless they are expressly incorporated into the contract. If any part of these terms is found to be unlawful or unenforceable, the remainder will continue in full force to the extent permitted by law.
These terms, together with the booking details and any written quotation or confirmation, form the entire agreement between you and us in relation to the relevant service.
They supersede any prior discussions, drafts, or representations, whether oral or written, except for any term that is required by statute to be included or preserved.
8. Governing Law
These Terms and Conditions, and any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with them, shall be governed by and interpreted in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. If you are a consumer, you may also benefit from mandatory protections under the laws that apply to your place of residence within the UK where those rights cannot lawfully be excluded.
The courts of England and Wales shall have non-exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising under these terms, although this does not limit any rights you may have to bring proceedings in another competent UK jurisdiction where permitted by law. We encourage the parties to attempt to resolve any disagreement amicably before starting formal proceedings.
By booking and using our services, you confirm that you have read, understood, and accepted these Terms and Conditions in full. We thank you for choosing Carpet Cleaners Elephant and Castle and we remain committed to providing a professional, lawful, and reliable service.
